How the Sunday app for iPhone and the Bezal Labs website handle your information.

Last updated August 31, 2026

The short version

  • No accounts. Sunday never asks who you are.
  • Your notes stay on your iPhone. We never receive them.
  • We collect anonymous usage statistics: which features get used, not what you write.
  • No ads, no ad networks, no cross-app tracking. Nothing is sold.
  • Delete the app and your notes go with it.

Who we are

Sunday is made by Bezal Labs Inc., an Ontario not-for-profit corporation. “We” below means Bezal Labs. We are the controller of the information described here.

What stays on your iPhone

Sunday stores this on the device and does not send it to us:

Nobody at Bezal Labs can read your notes, and neither can your church. Notes are included in an iPhone backup if you use one; that backup is Apple's and follows Apple's terms.

What Sunday sends, and where it goes

Church and sermon content

Sunday requests churches, series, sermons, passages, and reflection questions from our content API. Those requests carry no name, email, or user identifier. Like any web request they include your IP address and basic device information, which our host records in standard server logs.

Scripture text

When you open a passage, our API fetches the verses from API.Bible, a service of the American Bible Society. Only the passage reference and translation code are sent. API.Bible sees a request from our server, not from you.

Sermon video and audio

Recordings stream from wherever your church hosts them, and that host sees the request. We don't control those providers and they aren't covered by this policy.

Usage analytics

Sunday uses PostHog, on their US cloud, to measure how the app is used. Events are tied to a random identifier PostHog generates for your install. It is not your name, email, Apple ID, or the advertising identifier; Sunday never requests the advertising identifier.

What is recorded:

Never recorded: the contents of your notes. We record that a note was created, not what is in it. Notes never leave your device.

There is no in-app analytics opt-out today. If you want one, tell us.

What we don't do

The Bezal Labs website

Two forms on this site, the church setup request and the partner request, collect what you type into them: your name, email address, church or organization, and your message. It goes to our inbox through Resend, our email provider, and is used only to reply and get you set up. It isn't added to a mailing list or shared with anyone else.

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs, and uses Vercel Analytics for aggregate page counts. Vercel Analytics sets no cookies, and the site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep things

Children

Sunday is a general-audience app. It has no accounts, no messaging, no profiles, and no way to submit personal information, so we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child sent us something through one of our forms, email us and we'll delete it.

Your choices and your rights

Depending on where you live — Canada under PIPEDA, the EEA or UK under the GDPR, or a US state with its own privacy law — you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to how your personal information is handled. We honour those requests wherever you live. Write to drew@bezallabs.com. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising.

Where your information is handled

We are in Ontario, Canada. The services we rely on are in the United States: PostHog for analytics, Vercel for hosting, Resend for email, and API.Bible for scripture text. Using Sunday means the information described above is processed there.

Security

Traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS, and access to the small amount of data we hold is limited to the people who need it. Your notes never leave your phone, so there is no copy of them on our servers.

Changes to this policy

When the app changes, this page changes with it; note sync will get its own section before it ships. We update the date at the top for any meaningful change.
